Hitachi High-Tech Corporation, a leading technology company, has announced its investment of JPY 24 billion (EUR 163.1 million) in the construction of a new production facility in the Kasado Area of Kudamatsu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. The purpose of this investment is to increase the production capacity of etching systems for its semiconductor manufacturing equipment business.
Scheduled to begin production in the fiscal year 2025, the new facility is expected to double Hitachi High-Tech’s current production capacity through the implementation of digitalized and automated production lines. This expansion comes in response to the growing demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment in the market.
Spanning approximately 80,000 square meters, the new production facility will add an additional 35,000 square meters to Hitachi High-Tech’s manufacturing space once completed in April 2025. The company aims to leverage advanced technologies and efficient production processes to meet the needs of the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry.
